Title:

Ulusaba Rock Lodge, owned by Sir Richard Branson, is a high-end luxury lodge in Sabi Sands bordering Kruger National Park, deep in the bush of South Africa in the province of Mpumalang. It is situated on top of a rocky mountain (called ‘a koppie’), with unobstructed views of the African savannah. A truly magical place indeed…

The game-rich bush surrounding Ulusaba Rock Lodge makes it the ultimate place to observe the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino).

You will have the unique sounds, sights, and smells of Africa, just on your doorstep and at the same time you will enjoy the kind of style and luxury that affluent travellers expect from a five star boutique hotel.

Accommodation at Ulusaba Rock Lodge comprises of ten rooms, including two Makwela Suites, four Rock Cliff Rooms, and also a stunning Master Suite. Without any doubt, Ulusaba Rock Lodge is the epitome of luxury safari accommodation and offers blue-coloured swimming pools, gymnasiums, an African wine cellar (tastings can be arranged), aroma boma spas (of course with panoramic views!) and tennis courts.

One of our favourites places at Ulusaba Rock Lodge, however, is the Bush Observatory: a wonderful spot for star-gazing.

With all this facilities, you would almost forget that you can also enjoy safari walks accompanied by a ranger and a tracker, evening dinners in the bush and exciting game drives (there are twice daily game viewing drives).

Ulusaba is a private game reserve that actually consists of two lodges: the Rock Lodge and the Safari Lodge. There is place for 22 guests, served by a staff of 30 persons offering a service top notch. So whether you are a first time safari-goer or rather an expert, Ulusaba will leave you breathless, that’s for sure!
